NSA Spies On Israel-And Obama's Opponents

NSA Spies on Israel–and Obama’s Opponents

Obama, Netanyahu to meet at White House after antagonistic year

After reading this article by Brietbart, I immediately thought of George Orwell's 1984 where big daddy government is everywhere and can't be escaped. Scary stuff. Read on:

Global Decline???

Here's a take on the global economy by the UK's Financial Times. Always interesting to get perspective from across the Pond...

Soros Afraid of Trump & Cruz !

Here's a link to a very short article by Politico that basically says how George Soros,  billionare and leading supporter of all things liberal and anti-American, thinks Trump and Cruz would lead us down the wrong path in regards to how we deal with terrorism.

Really?

The fact that Mr. Soros is speaking out directly (where he usually just pours money into his favorite mouthpieces whether it be politicians, special media outlets or non-profit think tanks with innocuous titles like Media Matters to get his agenda across) assures me all the more that Trump and Cruz are more of a threat to Hilary and the Dems than anyone thought.

Very, very interesting....

Maine Teacher Asked To Remove Christmas Tree From Classroom

What is our country coming to, when a Bangor, Maine math teacher,  who has been decorating her classroom with a Christmas tree for 30 years,  was asked by the principal to remove her tree?

Have heard of this happening elsewhere, but never in Maine. Again, as I seem to be saying a lot lately. I'm disgusted....

Here's a link to the complete article. Will take you about 1 minute to read.

Obama Lets Loose And The Dem Debate

President Obama gave a radio interview on NPR Friday before his trip to Hawaii.

The interview consists of views by the president where he blames everyone and everything else other than himself (including his race!) for our current problems. He especially dumps on The Donald and says Mr. Trump has been exploiting the average persons' fears in regards to the economy, loss of jobs and terrorism in order to gain support. Not once does Mr. Obama own up to the part he's played in instigating the policies that have caused these very concerns in the first place.

For the basics of the interview, here's a link to a NYT's article written in response:

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/22/us/politics/president-obama-accuses-donald-trump-of-exploiting-working-class-fears.html?_r=0

In regards to the Democratic debate Saturday night.

I watched the first 40 minutes or so before I stopped in disgust. To be frank I felt bad for Bernie Sanders and even Martin O'Malley. This was a sham of a debate where the outcome will not change. Hilary will be the nominee come hill or high water, She can screw up, lie and obfuscate all she wants and nothing will change. Even if Sanders or O'Malley gave stellular performances and blew the audience away, Hilary will still be the nominee. The DNC will make sure of that. So why do Bernie and Martin bother? Where will it get them? They must know the fix is in. Stay tuned.

Study By The Cato Institute

The following info taken from a Cato Institute Study was passed on to me by friend . I double checked for accuracy and yep, sadly it's true.  To say I am in shock is putting it mildly.

The Cato Institute released an updated 2014 study (original study in
1955) showing that welfare benefits pay more than a minimum wage job in 33 states and the District of Columbia .

Even worse, welfare pays more than $15 per hour in 13 states.

According to the study, welfare benefits have increased faster than minimum wage. It's now more profitable to sit at home and watch TV than it is to earn an honest day's pay.

Hawaii is the biggest offender, where welfare recipients earn $29.13 per hour, or a $60,590 yearly salary, all for doing nothing.

Here is the list of the states where the pre-tax equivalent "salary" that welfare recipients receive is higher than having a job:

1. Hawaii : $60,590

2. District of Columbia :$50,820

3. Massachusetts : $50,540

4. Connecticut : $44,370

5. New York : $43,700

6. New Jersey : $43,450

7. Rhode Island : $43,330

8. Vermont : $42,350

9. New Hampshire : $39,750

10. Maryland : $38,160

11. California : $37,160

12. Oregon : $34,300

13. Wyoming : $32,620

14. Nevada : $29,820

15. Minnesota : $29,350

16. Delaware : $29,220

17. Washington : $28,840

18. North Dakota : $28,830

19. Pennsylvania : $28,670

20. New Mexico : $27,900

21. Montana : $26,930

22. South Dakota : $26,610

23. KANSAS : $26,490

24. Michigan : $26,430

25. Alaska : $26,400

26. Ohio : $26,200

27. North Carolina : $25,760 ***

28. West Virginia : $24,900

29. Alabama : $23,310

30. Indiana : $22,900

31. Missouri : $22,800

32. Oklahoma : $22,480

33. Louisiana : $22,250

34. South Carolina : $21,910

As a point of reference the average Middle Class annual income today is $50,000, down from $54,000 at the beginning of the Great Recession.

Hawaii , DC , and Massachusetts pay more in welfare than the average working folks earn there.

Average Salary of Soldier DEPLOYED IN AFGHANISTAN .. $38,000 Think about this !!!!!

Democratic Debate Tonight

For those interested, the Dems have their debate tonight at 8 on ABC. Notice how they've hidden it on a Saturday night, just before Christmas when most people won't be watching? The DNC knows the less the public see of Hilary, the more they're likely to vote for her.

However, with the recent flare up between Hilary and Bernie about the data breach,  it might actually get interesting, plus also pull in viewers who normally wouldn't have watched just to see if sparks fly.

The debate can also be live-streamed for those without tv or cable via ABC.

Marco Rubio Misses Senate Vote

I can't believe he missed voting on the Omnibus Bill I wrote about the other day. No matter how he tries to excuse this behavior, it's a major strike against him as far as I'm concerned and I bet for many other republicans. Read on for details:

Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged

Lately I've been thinking a lot about Ayn Rand's book Atlas Shrugged.  I read this 1957 novel in my late teens, 20s and several times since. I also saw her speak at Northeastern University while attending college. The impact of both her book and the speech was profound to say the least.

As I pay attention to, think about and ponder all that is happening in our country and globally,  I realize how prescient Ms. Rand was. Here are a few excerpts taken from Wikipedia about her and her book. These excerpts give an idea about what this powerful novel is about and the message she wanted to convey. Couldn't have said things better myself:

"Rand's stated goal for writing the novel was "to show how desperately the world needs prime movers and how viciously it treats them" and to portray "what happens to a world without them".[9] The core idea for the book came to her after a 1943 telephone conversation with a friend, where she said, what if I went on strike? What if all the creative minds of the world went on strike?"[8] Rand then began Atlas Shrugged to depict the morality of rational self-interest,[10] by exploring the consequences of a strike by intellectuals refusing to supply their inventions, art, business leadership, scientific research, or new ideas to the rest of the world."

"As the novel opens, protagonist Dagny Taggart, the Operating Vice President of Taggart Transcontinental, a railroad company established by her grandfather, attempts to keep the company alive against collectivism and statism."

"In the world of Atlas Shrugged, society stagnates when independent productive agencies are socially demonized for their accomplishments. This is in agreement with an excerpt from a 1964 interview with Playboy magazine, in which Rand states: "What we have today is not a capitalist society, but a mixed economy — that is, a mixture of freedom and controls, which, by the presently dominant trend, is moving toward dictatorship. The action in Atlas Shrugged takes place at a time when society has reached the stage of dictatorship. When and if this happens, that will be the time to go on strike, but not until then"."[32]

"Rand's heroes continually oppose "parasites", "looters", and "moochers" who demand the benefits of the heroes' labor. Edward Younkins describes Atlas Shrugged as "an apocalyptic vision of the last stages of conflict between two classes of humanity — the looters and the non-looters. The looters are proponents of high taxation, big labor, government ownership, government spending, government planning, regulation, and redistribution".[35]

"Moochers" are Rand's depiction of those unable to produce value themselves, who demand others' earnings on behalf of the needy, but resent the talented upon whom they depend, and appeal to "moral right" while enabling the "lawful" seizure by governments."

"So you think that money is the root of all evil? ... Have you ever asked what is the root of money? Money is a tool of exchange, which can't exist unless there are goods produced and men able to produce them. Money is the material shape of the principle that men who wish to deal with one another must deal by trade and give value for value. Money is not the tool of the moochers, who claim your product by tears, or the looters who take it from you by force. Money is made possible only by the men who produce. Is this what you consider evil? ... Not an ocean of tears nor all the guns in the world can transform those pieces of paper in your wallet into bread you need to survive tomorrow. ...

"Whenever destroyers appear among men, they start by destroying money, for money is men's protection and the base of a moral existence. Destroyers seize gold and leave its owners a counterfeit pile of paper. This kills all objective standards and delivers men into the arbitrary power of an arbitrary setter of values ... Paper is a mortgage on wealth that does not exist, backed by a gun aimed at those who are expected to produce it. Paper is a check drawn by legal looters upon an account which is not theirs: upon the virtue of the victims. Watch for the day when it bounces, marked: 'Account Overdrawn."

We are quickly getting to the point of 'Account Overdrawn'. The government is spending way more than it takes in and the 'looters and the moochers' seem to be eroding our free enterprise system one hand out, one regulation and one top heavy federal entity at a time.

Our freedom of speech and expression of religion, patriotism or just personal opinions are becoming more limited. Say the wrong thing to the wrong person,  post a comment on social media that disagrees with the current administration or just try and gain media access to the White House if you've crossed them,  and you're either stonewalled or demonized. Or maybe the IRS might track you down and then you're really in trouble. Think about Net Neutrality and the Fairness Doctrine and where they may lead. Though the motivation and spin is dressed in positive messages, watch out. These tactics are just another way to shut down dessent and/or opposition down the road.

Last, but not least, is the tight relationship that has formed between the current executive branch and a large segment of the media.  What happened to the concept and practice of 'The Fourth Estate' where access to information is essential to the health of democracy? Where the media reports the facts so that citizens can make responsible, informed choices rather than acting out of ignorance or misinformation ?

Bottom line is that almost everything Ayn Rand wrote about in Atlas Shrugged way back in 1957 is happening right now, before our very eyes. The corruption, the demonization of those who create value by starting and running businesses (remember Obama saying "you didn't build that'?), where excellence is no longer rewarded and everyone receives an award regardless of performance, the repression of free speech for fear of retaliation, the lack of transparency in our government (remember Pelosi's statement where you had to 'sign the bill before you could read it'), the escalating financial handouts to just about anyone who wants them.  I could go on and on.

But all is not negative. It just seems that way at times. And though Ayn Rand's novel Atlas Shrugged should be taken seriously and as a warning of how things could go in our country if we don't pay attention and guard our freedoms along with the constitution, I'm confident that we the people can still turn things around. We've done it before and can do so again.

Tuesday's GOP Debate

Here's a quick take on Tuesday night's GOP debate on CNN.

As far as I'm concerned there was no clear winner. Though I have to say out of everyone up on the stage, I personally thought Cruz was outstanding. His command of and ability to articulate issues are incredible. Will it bring him closer to the number #1 spot somewhere other than Iowa? Who knows. It'll be up to the American people to decide. But this is one smart guy with an incredible background and no fear of going against the status quo. Gotta admire that ...

Rubio did fine. But I think he might have hurt himself when the Gang of 8 stuff was brought up.

Trump? He did fine too. His stating he won't go 'third party' was a relief to many. But his surprising show of a tiny bit of humility saying how honored he is to be #1 in most of the polls was unusual. A humble Donald? I don't think so. My guess is that someone told him to tone things down a bit and stop throwing bombs every which way. Yet he couldn't help himself a few times. His polls will either remain the same or climb as it seems no matter what he says or does, many seem to love him no matter what.

Thought Christie did well. He wanted to look tough, experienced and like a Commander in Chief (used that term a lot in connection with himself) and I think he succeeded with many. The only time the façade cracked a bit was when one of the other candidates mentioned BridgeGate. He momentarily had a look of disgust but moved on and deflected like a good politican always does when confronted with unwanted comments or questions.

Carly?

Love her take on how we need to up the ante with better technology and also using social networks to see and learn what the bad guys are up to. She'd be great to head something like that up and bring us into the 21st century!

The rest of the field need to drop out as far as I'm concerned.

Again, I don't think there was a definitive winner,  but the more I watch and listen to Ted Cruz, the more I admire him,  He could really be the one to pull us out of the mess this country's in. More on him in another entry.

Ryan's Omnibus Bill

I'll give you the link to read the details, but here's a brief synopsis of the current omnibus bill by Paul Ryan, our new Speaker. And he's supposed to be a conservative? I don't think so. I'll be totally disgusted if this passes.

Here's what the bill would fund:

Sanctuary cities

Work permits and federal benefits for thousands of illegals

Refugee Re-Settlement (of which Rubio agrees on)

All Middle East immigration programs that have been used by terrorists over the years ie student and fiancé visa's and will do nothing to limit these from Jihadist countries

Schumer/Rubio Gang of Eight provision to increase H-2B visa's which encourages denying jobs to Americans by U.S. corporations

Tax credits for illegal adults with children

No money to continue and finish building the border wall promised back in 2006

Read on if you want more specifics:

This Is Interesting

Billionaire Saudi Prince, Alwaleed Bin Talal wants Trump out of the picture. Here's a link to the Breitbart article. Be sure to read down to the end where it points out how programs and centers promoting Islam are being funded by this guy right here in the good old U.S. of A.

Also note that a portion of the New York Times is now owned by another billionaire out of Mexico.

No doubt outside power and influence is playing a significant role in shaping our kids' minds as well as the publics' as never before. . .

Saudi's Drive Down Price Of Oil ...

After reading several articles about why the price of oil is coming down so dramatically and how ISIS finances its organization, I'm come to the conclusion that there might be an unintentional positive result for the drop in the price of oil other than cheaper prices at the pump for the average consumer.

What's the scoop?

Most report that the Saudi's are driving down the price of oil to compete with and teach the U.S. a lesson about accessing our own oil, selling it and undercutting sales of the Saudi/OPEC supply.  It is thought that by doing so, they'll drive us out of the shale/oil business and continue to reign supreme in this field. No doubt the U.S. oil business is hurting to a certain degree, people are losing jobs  and oil revenues are dropping off. But of course, us everyday consumers are appreciative of lower costs and now have more money to spend on other things. So it's a mixed bag of benefits and consequences for us.

However,  ISIS' number #1 cash cow for funding the caliphate is selling oil on the black market at below market prices from fields taken by force in Northern Iraq and Syria.  Of course oil isn't the only income generating business ISIS has. They extort fees, taxes, etc. from anyone living or doing business in those and other areas it controls much like the MOB does.  But the main source of money comes from oil.

Enter the Saudi's.

By driving down the price of oil, yes,  they hurt the American economy to a certain degree, but a possible by-product is that it also hurts ISIS whom already sells its oil at deeply discounted prices. Without a large and consistent source of funding, ISIS could not continue to operate at the magnitude it does now. And since U.S. bombing has not been able to destroy ISIS controlled oil fields, the other alternative could be to drive down the price of oil to the point where it really can handicap them.

Of all the articles I've read on the subject matter, not one has suggested the above as being a motive of the Saudi's for driving down the price of oil. But it could be a very potent strategy for lowering the power level of ISIS by decreasing its cash flow and thus hurting the ability to buy weapons and continue funding their objectives.

Just a little food for thought and a slight ray of hope ...

OBama Makes Another Executive Order ... This is frightening.

Here's a brief article noting that President Obama has signed ANOTHER executive order. This one's about giving him the power of Martial Law. Of course he obfuscates the true intent with the title 'National Defense Resources Preparedness' order.  Read on. As I said in the headline, this is frightening stuff.

http://americannews.com/obama-signs-new-executive-order-permanently-implementing-martial-law/

Note to self. Check to see how many executive actions Obama has signed vs other presidents. Seems he's creating new orders, giving the executive branch more and more power, on an almost monthly basis, maybe even more often.

One last thought. Wonder if there's a way for him to figure out how to give himself a third term? If there's the will, there might be a way. Especially with Obama still in power and a congress who rarely fights him, other than with pointless rhetoric vs real action...

California Terror Attack

I'm disgusted, frustrated and angry that another terror attack has happened in our country and President Obama, the main stream media and those leaning to the left continue to do their best to suggest differently by calling these attacks work place violence, racially motivated or an act of a  crazed lone-wolf.

What is also alarming is that after each event, Obama and his minions call for better gun control.

No doubt Obama's on a mission and that is to disarm the American public. Consequently, every time any kind of violence occurs whether it be a terror attack, workplace violence or a drug lords battling at our southern borders, he can claim that if only we had better gun control, these acts of violence wouldn't happen.

Obama's true mission in regards to the above? To eventually try and create a federalized police force. For anyone interested,  I wrote about this in a blog about the Baltimore Riots back in May.

The President's other m.o. is to NOT  go to war at almost any cost. Won't matter how things escalate, he won't budge. He's going to ride things out no matter what and let the next president deal directly with all the craziness. If I'm wrong, I'll be very surprised.

So the world could fall apart, ISIS and other terror groups can gain more and more control and Obama will continue to do nothing except to deflect, obfuscate  or blame anything or anyone else for these acts of violence other than the terrorists.

As I've said before... Obama fiddles while America burns ...
