GOP Presidential Town Hall Tonight But Why No Debate?

CNN will host a GOP town hall tonight starting at 8pm. It can also be live streamed via CNN. Andersen Cooper will moderate. All three candidates will participate. But from what I understand, they will NOT be on the stage at the same time together while answering questions from the audience and host.

Why not?

Cause then it would be a debate. And one candidate does NOT want a 3 man debate.

Who?

Donald Trump.

How do I know this?

Every time Trump is challenged by Cruz or asked by various media outlets about doing a three man debate, he changes the subject and pivots into talking about anything but. I've seen this over and over again whether on tv, the internet or talk radio.

The Donald likes and wants to control his political environment and the media lets him.

Why?

Ratings and the financial bottom line. Trump makes them money. Pure and Simple. And if they were to push him too far on the issue, he'd threaten to not come on their station again.

Is this fair to the American public?

No.

So what can we do about it?

Not a whole lot other than bombard various media outlets, the candidates websites and social media outlets demanding a debate. Then maybe they would listen and do their best to push for one before the convention in July.

Will this happen? Will people demand a debate vs town halls only?

Who the heck knows. I've given up trying to out guess this entire election cycle. It's like nothing I've ever seen since I started following politics in the late 70s, early 80s.
